Orientacja na orient

"Orientacja na orient" band exists sicnce april 1983, when it made its debut on "Jazz Juniors" festiwal in Kraków. Since then the band played multiple times in Poland, Italy and Germany, including radio and TV shows. The repertoire of the band consists oriental motives (compositions of the leader) and original pieces from Far East (India, Tibet, Japan). There are two cassette tapes with recordings of the band and 28 CDs, published in Poland, Italy, Hungary and USA, With recordings of the leader, in which members of the band participated. There were lots of known musicians in the band, like Wojciech Staroniewicz, a very valued jazzman (saxophone) and compositir, mainnly of movie music ("Edi" among others), Wojciech Lemański (violin) or Stefan Błaszczyński (flute), member of "Brathanki" band. The band played hundreds of concerts in Poland, also in Germany and Italy.

Shakti Vilas

Grupa ta, założona w roku 2001, wykonuje indyjskie pieśni duchowe „bhajan”. Według tradycji indyjskiej pieśni te zostały skomponowane przez mistrzów duchowych, myślicieli i poetów. Członkowie zespołu są od wielu lat związani z duchowością i muzyką indyjską, stu-diując te dziedziny pod kierunkiem indyjskich nauczycieli i samodzielnie. Zostały wydane dwie płyty kompaktowe zespołu: „The Indian Symphony” (Ericart -Włochy 2002) i „Bhajans” (Ananda Sounds - Węgry 2003, Polyglobe Music - Austria 2007). Ta druga została uhonorowana pierwszą nagrodą w kategorii indyjskiej muzyki klasycznej i tradycyjnej w konkursie JUST PLAIN FOLKS AWARDS (USA 2006). Zostało w nim ocenionych ok. 35.000 płyt z ponad 70 krajów. Zespół ma na koncie liczne występy we Włoszech, na Węgrzech i w Polsce.

Lucyan Group

Zespół muzyczny The Lucyan Group istnieje oficjalnie od 3 grudnia 2009, kiedy to zadebiutował występem w Ośrodku Działań Artystycznych w Piotrkowie Trybunalskim. Wykonuje repertuar łączący motywy orientalne i jazzowe (są to kompozycje lidera) oraz oryginalne utwory z Dalekiego Wschodu (Indie, Tybet, Japonia), zaaranżowane w stylu jazzowym. Lider zespołu Lucyan (Lucjan Wesołowski), kompozytor i multiinstrumentalista, określa tę muzykę mianem „orient-jazz". Piotr Kolasa jest cenionym i doświadczonym łódzkim perkusistą jazzowym, a Przemysław Kowalski operującym błyskotliwą techniką basistą i gitarzystą klasycznym. Piotr Przybył, który niekiedy występuje z zespołem, jest znanym skrzypkiem jazzowym, kompozytorem, członkiem znanego łódzkiego zespołu "Yankel Band:. W pierwszych dniach stycznia 2013 muzycy zakończyli pracę nad pierwszą płytą, zawierającą kompozycje lidera. Została ona wydana pod tytułem „Orient-jazz”. Grają na niej gościnnie także muzycy z innych krajów: Luca Donini (Włochy) i Sagit Zilberman (Izrael).

JAWA Ensemble (Abdou Oardi, Lucyan, Robert Siwak) is a band that was born spontaneously in July 2015. Its beginning was a duet of an instrumentalist and vocalist from Morocco named Abdou (Abdelhak) Ouardi and Lucyan (Lucjan Wesołowski, musician from Poland), which performed in Italy, Switzerland and Poland. In a concert that the duo presented at the end of July 2015 in Warsaw, Adam Rozenman joined both musicians, playing on many percussion instruments, including Arab, Turkish, Iranian, etc. The band has performed in Morocco and Poland, and recorded the CD "One Spirit", published by Polish record company “Soliton”.

The band presents Moroccan music and from the area of Mediterranean Sea, including songs from the tradition of spiritual music.

 

Abdou plays the Arabic lute "oud" and the Arabic zither "quanun", while Lucyan plays sitar and bansuri (Indian instruments), either guitar. Robert Siwak plays different Oriental drums, as darabuka or daff. Almost the whole repertoire are vocal pieces; Abdou sings in different languages, including in the Arabic Moroccan dialect, in Ladino, in Berber languages, in Turkish, etc. The repertoire is enriched by Lucyan's compositions referring to the Indian tradition.
